About Frankie Gault
Born and bred in Port Glasgow, Frankie made the unlikely leap from shipyard work to the exercise yards of Barlinnie at just 17. Fifteen years of prison life across Scotland and England followed before he realised, as he puts it, “the handle was on the inside of the door all the time."

Acknowledging he was likely an alcoholic before birth, he quit drinking in 2006. “I started at 14, thinking it was the best decision he'd ever made.I stopped at 48, feeling the same.” In 2010, he enrolled in the Creative Writing Programme at Glasgow University and graduated with distinction. His work has been published by Freight Books, Tangled Web, thi wurd, and The Common Breath.
Frankie now lives in Gourock with his Border Terrier, McCafferty. He’s currently finishing his second collection of what he calls his “ragged bunch of Giro Vignettes.”
